Terrence Flynn arrived in America about 1843 according to the 1900 census report. His two sons, John Edward and James Richard, were both born in Marshall CO. Virginia, what is now West Virginia. Terrence and his wife Mary migrated west settling in Adair MO where the two daughters, Mary Ann and Margret, were born.
John Edward Flynn married Bridget Isabelle Quinn, daughter of Matthew and Mary A (Kelly) Quinn, and stayed in Adair MO to start
their family. I am a decendant of John and Bridget.
James Richard Flynn met Grace O'Brien, daughter of Col. Thomas and Kate (Gillespie) O'Brien, and moved back to Wheeling WV to start their family. Story has it that Grace O'Brien was in Adair MO visiting relatives when she met James Richard. It is my belief that she was visiting the Gillespie's, her mothers family. I have Margaret Josephine Gillespie, born 1872 in Wheeling, daughter of James and Margret (Farley) Gillespie. Margaret married Dan Daly, brother of Micheal Daly who married Margret Flynn. I have not linked these Gillespies to Kate Gillespie, Grace's mother, yet. I have Kate's father as James Gillespie, mother as Margaret Weldon.
Mary Ann Flynn never married and it would appear that she stayed home to take care of Terrence and help on the farm.
Margret Flynn married a Michael Daly, son of John and Honora (Breen) Daly. They never had any children of their own, but Michael Daly's obit states that he is survived by his wife Margaret and a foster son, Dennis Farley. Margaret and Michael remained in Adair.
I hope to one day learn who Terrence Flynn's parents were, who his siblings were, and where in Ireland he was born.

Current research includes:
The Nutt/McNutt family - researching the Nutt/McNutt, the Descendants of David Nutt of Orange Co North Carolina book.
Just had a lot of help from Paula Logan, a Findagrave.com volunteer photographer who has taken pictures of most, if not all, headstones of the Nutt family in Granbury Cemetery, Granbury, Hood Co, Texas. Still in the process of getting them all uploaded to FTM, then hopefully to Fotki.
The Sheldon family - my grandmother has an old photo album that belonged to her grandfather, William Glen Sheldon. Scanning all the pictures and uploading them to Fotki. Thank you to Stella Farrar for helping identify many of the people in the pictures!!
Found the Sheldon Family Association through a reply to a post I put on the Rootsweb message boards. The SFA genealogist, Jack Sheldon Jr., identified our Sheldon's in the SFA database.
Currently researching SHELDON on the Ancestry.com family trees section.
Catherine Rosean (Flynn) Sweeney in the Colorado area - With the help of Paul Daragy, we are real close to identifying William and Catherine (Flynn) Sweeney in Colorado. Pretty sure that they are buried on Mt Olivet Cemetery, per my conversation with the receptionist at the cemetery. With Paul's help, hopefully this can be confirmed through obituaries. There are other Sweeney's buried in the same "block" as William and Catherine, most likely their children. Couple rogue names we cannot confirm who they are yet.
Joseph Vernon Flynn and family in the Seattle area - have come into recent contact with Marla (Flynn) Habenicht, the daughter of Joseph Vernon Flynn, son of Matthew Flynn who is the son of John and Bridget Isabelle (Quinn) Flynn. After the 1930 census, I lost Joseph Vernon, doing research on his brother Doral lead me to find Tim Flynn and his sister Leslie (Flynn) Garrett in Columbia MO. They had forwarded my letter to Seattle WA to Marla and her family. Fantastic to find living relatives!!
CLAIM TO FAME: The names below are found the Flynn Family Tree
Lara Flynn Boyle:

Gillian Flynn:
TV critic for Entertainment Weekly and author of Sharp Objects, award winning novel. Awards include, shortlisted for the Duncan Lawrie Dagger, CWA New Blood Fiction Dagger, and 2007 Ian Fleming Steel Dagger.
Jasper Newton Daniel, more commonly known as Jack Daniel:
My grandmother's (Penny (Kish) Flynn) grandmother was Henrietta Nutt. Henrietta had a cousin named Squire McNutt. Squire married Victoria Sanders. Vicotoria's grandmother was Annie Daniel. Annie is the sister of Calaway Daniel. Calaway Daniel is the father of Jasper Newton Daniel, better known as Jack Daniel, the whiskey! Jasper Newton (Jack) worked for a preacher named Dan Call. Dan Call also had a distillery where Jack worked as a young boy. At the age of about 13, Jack bought the distillery from Dan and turned into what it is today.
Jack Daniel never married, therefore, he took Lem Motlow, his favorite nephew, under his wing. Lem kept the books for Jack and ultimately, Jack signed the company over to Lem due to his failing health. It is said that Jack went to work early one morning and could not remember the combination to his safe. In anger, he kicked the safe and broke his toe, never having it tended to. Eventually gangrene set in and lead to his death.
Although Jack Daniel is not a direct relation, no bloodline connection, I am still taking the claim to fame!
Another famous link, not directly related, is Daniel Boone.
